I didn't intend to blog something today. Since I would need to clear off this dead creature from my new messenger bag below, and... the same time showing the person who gave me this as pressie, where the hell this dead creature could have been hidden from. Was it from its originated country, or the transiting, or my country. The dead body should not be from my home... as it does not look as if it was dead 24hours ago, since it only left with one dried leg, hehe... leave it for CSI investigator!
Hey... aren't this a cool crumpler messenger bag? I know someone who hates cockroaches, would be interested. Too bad, this is not for re-sell... :P The flexi compartment in there can be such useful for my DSLR as well as my netbook.
On top of the cockroach and new bag... here goes another story of cockroach! Couple of weeks back, I noticed this dead creature somewhere in my living hall. It wasn't out there on the floor or so, but was in a bowl. What? Bowl? Who's bowl? My new cockroach catcher's bowl...
Wanna guess whom has been recently hired as a full time cockroach catcher in my home... it's her! My little Pomeranian doggie - Foxy!
Purple has now turned blue... purple is joy, yet blue is hope!

Food Surprises - Bittergourd Soup (天天来苦瓜汤), Puchong Bandar Puteri
I had never been a fan of bitter gourd (a.k.a. bitter melon 苦瓜) when I was young, but as I grew older... probably the taste bud has changed drastically. I find simple and less fried dishes tastier. Besides, bitter gourd is one of the healthy vegetable too, check it out here.
It had been weeks ago we stumbled into this restaurant. We have heard a lot of this place, but yet have the chance to taste it out. The main dish offers here is obviously bitter gourd soup. One will not miss this shop, as it seems to be the busiest food shop along the road, its signboard is yellow in color.
Let's check out the soupy meal... bitter gourd sliced in thin slices, there it goes into the porky soup. We added on with a small plate of deep fried pork (炸猪肉)as a side dish. This was yummy. Plus a dish of omelet, can't remember what was the filling either. ha!

Fu Gua Thong Restaurant

DIY - Banana Walnut Muffins
I know... I had been missing from the blog era for some time. Guess what? This could be the weekend I blogged the most... with a recent great achievement for myself... I felt great! This had been the very 1st time I baked muffins on my own, all on my own !!! Without pre-mixed flour, most importantly. The idea was all triggered from my over-ripped banana I just bought yesterday.
Yeah, I don't quite like pre-mixed flour and I don't like to bake. Most importantly I hate the cleanup and messy tool - the electrical mixer! I discover something new today, and browsed into an online recipe and found this.
Instead of just publishing the ingredient and simple step-by-step instructions, the writer provides most do and don'ts. It was good to learn and have 2 mixing bowl, one dry and one wet. I then read through those important points mentioned.. here I go. I some what did not follow strictly on ingredient measurement, in my heart - it's just an experiment.
Here's what I used...
Wet Ingredients:-
1 or 2 ripe banana
1 egg
100g melted butter
few drops vanilla essence
about 1 cup of milk
Dry Ingredients:-
200g flour
100g sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnut
Steps:-
Here's what I got.. it was fluffy and nice. Best part from what I learned here, there is no need to use a electrical mixer. 2 spoons are good enough to mixed them all in one bowl.

DIY - Fried Laksa
Is there such dish? Can Laksa be fried? Well, if you had tried it at Restaurant Well Gourmet Subang SS14, you will know what I mean. They offers wide ranges of food, but very famous of their fried Laksa. I visited them once couple of years ago. All through my favourite food blog masak-masak.
However, it had been a while since I last visited them. That's because I do fried my own laksa dish! Used to shop for wide range of uncooked noodle each time I am back at Ipoh, Menglembu wet market is my must for a visit. Bought a packet of lai fun (籁粉), glass rice noodle this time.
Ingredient and it preparations is rather simple:-
Ingredients : Small can of sardine, Onion, Taugeh, lai fun, chilli paste, tomyam paste, lime leaves, lime
Steps :

The Bangkok Post, March 25 - 28 2010
Hello there... don't get me wrong, I am not a newspaper reporter :P Probably it's due to the everyday Bangkok RED news, which captured my attention of a newspaper. As most of you know, the REDs had been flooding Bangkok city recently. I was lucky enough as the weekend when I was there, nothing much had happened since they have not went into disagreement. Streets were occasionally clear, except on the Friday night which we were trapped in a taxi of the nothing unusual traffic jam.
Here's the REDs at Ekkamai station on the Saturday morning.
I was terribly sick, having to walk myself along the ever dusty Bangkok street... thank god I have my mask with me, wrapping myself with a shawl, walking with my bag pack and my pair of Nike free shoes. The feeling wasn't good, after my Uphamol taken effect... I have been continuously on the pain killer, gosh... 1st time in many years I had taken so much of pain killer pills. No choice as I wish to continue my journey, wouldn't want to waste my air ticket just to stay home and sleep. Good thing was - I stayed in a homey place this time round... easy access to additional vitamins, medicines, herbal teas, etc...
Authentic Thai food has been always a must for my visit to Thailand. Food journey started with a Wan Ton Mee with "real" crab meat... taste wise was so-so, it could be due to my mood rather. That was we had our meal at a hawker stall of one of the soi at Sukhumvit. It had been always great to taste local delicacies in the way they do.
We had random meals most the time while we walked along. I even got hungry on a day, which I didn't had breakfast because I couldn't get off the bed - I felt extremely weak till the noon, which I have to drag myself off and to the nearest 7-11.
As day past, I got slightly better. We then had 2 great and huge meals (well treated hmmmm...) on the day before we left. First was the 9pm dinner we had, which led us to a very full tummy just before going to bed. I didn't border to take down this Chinese Restaurant name, its along Rama IV road. We had great Tom Yum, Oyster Egg, curry crabs, and 4 huge Mantis Prawn. Look at the pictures below, isn't it great. Yeah, was great and shocked too... the fried Mantis prawn cost us a bomb! It was 1,760Baht for 4 of these! It had taken the share of 60% of all foods we had. Oh dear..
On the very next morning, we have brunch (Breakfast + Lunch) at one go... this created another of my Purple's record! We had German pork knuckle for brunch!! I have had a lot of pork knuckle these days, but never had one at 11AM! Indeed was a filling brunch ever, we had breakfast sets, chicken pie, and a Thai dessert namely pok-pok, haha... it was papaya salad with sticky rice. Everything was good, thanks thanks. I felt a little wasteful for the pork knuckle, as it should be nicely fit during happy hour hangout in a nice ambiance cafe / pub.... hmmm.... can't wait for one these days.
A visit to Thailand will never complete without their ever famous Thai traditional massage. We we brought to a new place (at least for us, who used to visit Health Land before). 禅 Lavana Bangkok is the place, very near Shareton Grande at Sukhumvit. Just next to the famous Cabbages & Condom Restaurant. Check out their website for further info. 550baht for 90 minutes per pax, can be a little pricey from the normal massage center, but I do find it relaxing to be at such pampering place, good choice.
Mind my writings here, as I have been more in-to my private blog. Sensibly and emotion stumble me is trying hard to achieve a balance in my life, but seems my soul had lost somewhere down the pathway.
