Beef Noodle (牛栏面) @ Jln Jubilee, Ipoh

There was further more food discover over my last trip back to Ipoh, just last weekend. Mom and dad brought us to a coffee shop, which they had been enjoying their beef noodle very frequently. In fact, they were missing the Indonesian-style of beef noodle, which we could find easily at coffee shop around at our hometown - Labuan, been mentioned in my past post.

Anyway, let's give it a try... I won't say its similar to the taste of Soto, where Indo-styled soup would have more spices. However, this Chinese-styled noodle has the taste of beef noodle and what indulge me most is the 'inner parts' than the beef. And it was priced well, it's about RM4.00 for small and RM5.60 for large take-away.

The shop apparently is famous of its fish ball noodle and yong-tau-foo, according to its signboard. Not many people would know they serve beef noodle.

Where does this coffee shop located? It's along Jalan Jubilee. Unknowlingly, I found the GPS coordinate at MFM map, its N4 35.652 E101 05.154. Or click below map for detail view.

Upcoming, more food blog around this area, stay tuned.

Mom's Chinese Rice Dumpling, Ba-Chang

Since my nite conference was canceled, and various chat activities happened for the past few minutes, it seems I am yet sleepy... in such case, why not I continue a simple post to share.

What do I have here? It's Chinese rice dumpling, better known as Ba-Chang (Hokkien), Zhong-Zhi (Mandrin) and so.... it was a Chinese celebration, where some might call it "Chinese Dumpling Festival", "Dragon Boat Festival" or even "Rice Dumpling Festival". Well, its hard for me to explain in English. It's call 端午节 in Chinese.

Found a useful website, which even teaches you how to make rice dumpling ! Interesting. Click here if you wish to know more.

I went back home to Ipoh last weekend, without ask... I knew Mom will surely prepare her favourite Rice Dumpling which she learned only last couple of years, from her mom indeed. Ensuring the taste and talent will not lost over the years. Probably it may be good if I could learn from her too.... will see.

Here are the pictures...

What's so special about this home-made dumpling, versus what we could easily buy from the market? Well, let me list them down.

1) It's small, smaller than usual dumpling
2) Filled with nice pork and nuts
3) Rice not too dark in color
4) Most important there is no soya bean or whatever beans one might place in... I hate beans in my rice dumpling :P!

There it goes - a simple rice dumpling!

Oh ya, by the way I discover a little dumpling this time.. not sure what had it made out from, probably just glutinous rice and pandan leaves!... somehow not my taste.

Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee (扳面)

At first I didn't intend to blog out this ever famous Chilli Pan Mee (扳面), type of flat noodle made of flour. Many flogger had blog out this stall (supposingly is a shop with a one and only stall), located near Jalan TAR, KL. I love this noodle too, feel like having it now.... since I am sooooo hungry!

Anyway, just in case you would like Pan Mee and so happen you are around KL center, worth a try! The stall will only serve one size bowl (RM5.50). If you happen to feel you might need extra noodle, sorry.. you could only get another bowl to fill up your stomach.

Let's see if these picture will attract your appetitte....

And see how it was prepared...

They seem to have chilled up and stored the noodle in the fridge, believe it could be due to the high demand of noodle and they are not able to meet with their supply. If only the noodle being made immediately, the taste will be definitely great!

There are another 2 highlight of the noodle.. it comes with fresh vegetable soup as well as the most important grained chilli, its a must to add them into your noodle.

Where about? You could always find them in MFM and MSM GPS map. Look for Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee. GPS Coordinate N3 09.651 E101 41.899, click map below to enlarge.

Fishing @ Kota Kemuning

Guess I am just able to write a simple blog today. Have been hibernating from 'umph' of writing these days, especially during the high peak of work stressed period. Long pending stories to share, hope I will have much more time to write :)

Here's a very quick blog. I discovered a great leisure cum quiet hobby someone been enjoying out there on a Sunday morning. Under the shedding trees with a bed of lotus flowers along the swampy area next to the Klang River. The scene attracted me to stop by and took a nice shot of this uncle and his family... quietly waiting for his harvest - fish from the pond. His wife brought along some foods to share, it was a bright and shiny morning... only if I have my DSLR with me that morning, believe I would have got a nice shot of him....

Where's the place... it's along Persiaran Anggerik Renantanda, GPS coordinate N2 59.807 E101 33.027. Click below map for detail viewing.

My "Siao-Lang" (crazy fella) Kite !

Following my 1st kite flying experience, made it the 2nd time couple of weeks ago.... when I was seriously stressed up. Not that I am relieved from stress now, as I think I am getting worse :( Anyway, let me live-my-own and rest for the weekend.

Bought this paper-kite many years ago at Pantai Morib, off the beach towards south from my place. It's unique as its made solely from thin color paper. I brought this kite all the way to Lang Tengah island, on my last trip there... but I didn't realised it was in my bag until the very last day. Anyway, I didn't have time and chance to fly it too, as our trip was rather a 'rush' type. Wish I am still out there in the island.... :) - day dreaming job, a typical Libraian character.. am I right?

Here's the lakeside park at Kota Kemuning.

Some special kites I found - BATMAN !!! Very unfortunate, the gold one went off the sky after a while.. not sure where did it landed to.

Qi Gong Massage @ Soon Reflexology, SS2 Petaling Jaya

Mr Soon has been my savior of body ache pain every now and then. How I get to know him? It was through an introduction from my uncle when he saw I had a very bad swollen ankle about 1.5 years ago. I fell from a step during my Jan 1 trip to Shanghai last year, I twisted my right ankle badly. Upon returning to Malaysia, I had visited couple of reflexology sifu, but things did not improve for at least a month long!

Till I visited Mr Soon, he applied Qi Gong acupressure method and I found it very effective and relaxing... That's how I discover his service and most friend and family I had introduced to him will find him good.

Lately, I have been visiting Mr Soon twice in a month.. why? Well... as you might know, I could have been stretching some part of my body muscle too much, after several lesson for diving. Also some amount of stress at work and working on my laptop for long hours. Early May before my trip to Singapore and Lang Tengah, I had severe upper back, shoulder and arm pain. After once massage... I feel so 'loose' and relax, it helped me to have a 'painless' trips.

Later just 2 weeks ago, I had severe lower back pain instead. Most probably due to my long hour sitting position in the office and back home. I should have more micro break each time I get too much 'into' my work. It could be due to my odd-posture I had lately - bed + netbook :)

In case you would wish to know how to get there, Mr Soon's shop is just above Nam Heong Chicken rice shop. GPS Coordinate: N3 07.126 E101 37.195

You might wish to give him a call before visit, as he does not have any helper at the meantime, its only him who does the massage work.

Tel : +603-7958 8227
Handphone : +6012-388 3227

Update: Soon massage has now moved to a block behind. Above Sydney Optical, same row as Savemart SS2.

Foods @ Kota Kemuning - Restaurant Sei Bao (食饱饱)

It was after I touched down from my last Singapore trip earlier this month. We decided to have a quick dinner and explored this restaurant for the 1st time. We all knew it was moved from another location within Kota Kemuning, previously was named Sek Bao Bao, after its Chinese name 食饱饱, eat-full-full, haa....

Their previous restaurant was located back at the 2nd roundabout, within the destiny of Anggerik Liparis and Doritis area. Ever since then, I like to tapao their Singapore Fried Bihun. Guess why? Cos they normally served with lots of BBQ pork char-siew and small lil shrimp.

After ending their business close to a year, they decided to re-open their business at the busy business area of Anggerik Vanilla, nearby weekly Pasar Tani area instead.

Let's see what are the dishes we ordered. Without miss, surely will have their Singapore Fried Bihun, vegetable and lastly mantis prawn (赖尿虾) fried with salted egg.

Where does this restaurant located? Check out the map below (click to enlarge). Near tapak pasar tani.
