Please don't get me wrong, I am not a Beer-holic! It was a coincident, while I was hunting for a few cans of beer, in preparation for a mini get-together at my new home. We found this beer at a nearby grocery store, intended to give it a try, since it was fairly cheap - MYR4.70 for tall can.
This lager beer seems to be rather smooth & malty, with the slight amount of sweetness brought in between the taste. Some might caught to slight drunkness because its alcohol content is 8.6%, slightly higher in comparison with the normal 4.x% or 5% of alcohol content.
Worth giving this a try, if you happen to bump into this brand of beer - The Bavaria Beer.
I had a good happy hour company lately, especially on a Friday afternoon after work. Just had my Hoegaarden last Friday at JayaOne's Brussels Garden Cafe. I recalled when I had my first Hooegaarden - it was on my 1st business trip to Houston 3 years ago. We had a wind-down session at Flying Saucers, Downtown Houston. I still remember I was the last to finish my glass, and colleagues were all waiting for me (we were heading for a basketball match at the Toyota Center)!! At the end, one of my colleague had to finish that for me... sigh~ what a horrible drinker! Hoegaarden is a Belgian beer.
Besides, coming from a tax-free heaven island of Labuan, brought me with all kinds of alcoholic drinks. Some unknown or rather rare brands can be found in the island's duty free shops. But they are all occasionally found, guess its just selling some left-over brands or 'testing the market' around. I will blog more the next time round when I have the chance to go home. :P
Next in my memory was an introduction of Paulaner beer. It has been one of my kaki's favourite German beer, after a great try at a German restaurant serving pork knuckle some time ago. I like their dark lager beer... it has a little honey-sweetness. I was introduced to this beer back in Singapore 3 years ago, by my cousin. The pub was rather interesting because they brew their beer in-house. It was great! My happy hour kakis still searching for a good place for Paulaner hangout place, suggestion anyone?
Till then, when I have other chance to try out new beers...
Purple has now turned blue... purple is joy, yet blue is hope!

Cheese Cakes !
Guess I had lost my momentum in blogging lately... probablyI feel shy of utilizing my neighbor's WiFi everyday... poor me has not even get my TM Streamyx internet connection back. It's almost 3 weeks! That will be a separate issue to bring on later, will see how much more time I will need to wait.
OK, since its Friday.. and the weekend has started... let's have my 1st writing Last-in First-out (LIFO) ! This is the latest hot-baked cheese cake from the oven...
My house is now full with Cheese Cakes !! There are all together... about 7 varieties??!! (I had lost count in fact). The one I remember most is the rum and raisin cheese cake... it tasted more like fruit cake... probably the rum and raisin taste had covered up the cheese taste.
Further on (as I remembered correctly), there were carrot cheese cake, apple pie cheese cake, baked blue berry cheese cake, and.... was plain cheese cake (oh no, I lost my memory). I like the apple pie cheese cake the most, if only the apple could have tasted better... its just as much as I like McD's apple pie !!
Oh by the way, when I had the slice of cheese cake this morning, it from from my fridge. Guess what, the smell blended well with my box of durian in the fridge. Believe it's time for a Durian Cheese Cake ! To those who involve in this cake-baking session, probably its time to try out new recipe. ... hehe, the 'those' obviously does not include me, I am definately not a cake-maker :P
Next on the menu was lemon cheese cake and chilled blue berry cheese cake. I hope that is all for the weekend, I don't wanna dream of cheese cake in my dream :P
p.s. guess this is the first time in my blogging history, I took almost 5 hours to complete this post :))

Tapioca Cookies (Kuih Bangkit)
It is a long weekend, since it will be another extra day of replacement public holiday tomorrow.... With this extra day, I feel myself much more rested and comfortable in a way I had enough time to adjust myself to a weekend mode. How I wish we could work 4 days and off 3 days.. isn't that perfect for the hectic city worker like us?
Anyway, enough of day dreaming stuff... life has been like that for a while, ever since I get myself in tremendous stress at work. I know some could have pity me and thanks for the cherish brought when it comes every Friday! I didn't appreciate why people used to say "TGIF", but now I would know the exact meaning of it.
Back to the cookie story. I was with my parents yesterday and we had bumped into such idea to pay my uncle and family a visit, since we were nearby at OUG area and grandma was spending her time at this uncle's place too. Mind me, it had been more than 3-4 years I had never seen them, sad to say and even my lil cousin brother who is now almost 10 years old!. Gosh... time flies, remember the time I last seen him was when he was 2-3 years old. I know I am not a good niece and good cousin at all... I knew that!
My aunt introduced us some CNY cookies and she brought this particular pack of Tapioca Cookies, nicely sealed and packed from Taiping. In definitely its the commercial type. I used to like this biscuit long time ago, but all those tasted so-so, even home made type. But this particular one is special, where the cookie could basically melt in your tongue and mouth easily...
Aunt gave me another pack to bring home... and shhh... I had finished almost 1/2 pack on my own since 1-2 hours ago...
I checked through some blogsite... oopss.. this particular cookie 1 piece (6g) = 20 kcal and 0.6g fat !! Gosh.. I guess I had easily ate 50-60 pieces since yesterday.
I will check out this particular brand from Taiping, will definitely buy this whenever I happen to drop by there one day..

Junk Food Heaven - Kuih Cincin
Oh dear... this is one of the thing I forgot to pass on to 'her' when she was here hours ago... soli soli. Anyway, she should be able to get this very soon during CNY.
Here's a kind of junk food we had in East Malaysia, kinda famous among the local society. It's call Kuih Cincin. Cincin means Ring in Malay. According to the ingredient, its made of flour, nipah palm sugar and of course oil to fry.
I still prefer the original red in color instead of this. Believe the one in red is very rare now a days, can only find them in Brunei if not mistaken.
Surprising enough, I did googl'ed around and found that there are someone who like this kind of junk food. What a small world.

Junk Food Heaven - Cadbury Peppermint Chocolate
I don't think Chocolate is my favorite junk food (coz my mom banned me from liking choco when I was young :P). But then, I might still have some odd one for my favorite, right?
Ever since my hometown was turned into a Duty Tax Free Financial Center, we enjoyed cheap imported chocolate since then. That was the time I first had this Cadbury Peppermint Chocolate! Particularly, it must be Made in Australia. My next favorite from Cadbury family is Dark Chocolate Old Gold Old Jamaica Rum N Raisins.
I used to buy the large bar like this... but each time I won't be able to finish them all, its all depends on my mood. If I crave for it, I will have them. Else if not, it will be rotten or expired.
I got so used to the imported Chocolates, mainly Cadbury large bar from Australia. We can get them about RM8/bar. It was used to be RM7. Other than Cadbury, the other common chocolates are Hershey's Kisses. We can get about RM19-25 for large pack.

* How this blog topic came by? Well, it was from the taste of peppermint choco I am having now, yum yum!

Junk Food Heaven - Lay's (乐事)
This post is purposely meant for someone out there! Hee... What do you think? When do you want this ship to you?Anyway, just a quick intro of this Junk Food. It was introduced to me when I visited China, no.. I think was when someone brought this back from the main land last year. Tasted this particular flavor - Cucumber! It was refreshing indeed.
Following the Milk Scandal in China lately, was wondering if this may be contaminated too.. I had this shipped over lately, about 8-9 bottles of this. But, I didn't crave or had it opened until this weekend. Was wondering if its safe! Anyway, its not dairy product. Believe it should be OK.
Life's too short to think twice or more. Have to enjoy it rather.
