Foxy & Jerry

It is kinda waste to delete these pictures! Well, let me share them with you instead. The little creature namely "Jerry" missed its way and was caught by a little old fashioned trap. :)

2 days later...

Here was Foxy, my little Pomeranian and her new friend, Jerry.

Foxy was extremely excited with this new friend. It lasted only for a day....

The Nostalgic Food Place @ Section 17, PJ

I don't really intend to write a food blog on its own. Running out of ideas in blogging lately, capturing food photos does not help much in writing a good food blog. As much as it could, I am blogging just for own diary, it comes handy for my own reference once a while, especially when I need to find out the details of places I have been before.

Section 17 PJ is a place I could dine for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even supper. It had been a strategic place for me, whenever I need to drop by PJ or Damansara Bandar Utama area. Foods are cheap, heaps of varieties, most importantly tasty. One could taste the real 'humanity' taste, as most of the coffee shops and stalls had been there for more than 10-20 years.

We dropped by for breakfast one day, wanted to hunt for some other famous foods other than those 'standard' one we used to have. I missed the Hakka Pan Mee, which many years ago the owner decided to close down his business, he has the famous pan mee around. Nevertheless, there are other worth tasting foods around.

Try out Restaurant Hong Seng, a corner coffee shop opposite CIMB Taman Sentosa Section 17. In front of the bus stop. Apparently, they have famous siew yuk (roasted pork), according to Masak-masak here. Based on Popular Book's Food Guide, it introduced the curry mee instead. Well, true enough the curry mee was good. See pic below... one may not get a bowl of curry me stuffed with see-ham and long bean vege, but there was missing brinjal :P

The kon-lo noodle was so-so, but was full of BBQ pork :)

The milk tea was not bad, at least I find consideration where they left sugar aside.

Oops.. paiseh, this roasted pork was bought from the market, not from the shop.

In case you need the exact address of this shop.

Restoran Hong Seng
Along Jalan 17/29
Section 17, Petaling Jaya
(Closed on Mondays. Same row as Sportstoto. There are also two other kopitiams in the same row i.e.Lucky Seafood and Wah Cheong.)

DIY - The Passion fruit's "transformer"

My backyard's Passion fruit vine tree has always made my proud. I am proud of its ability to produce many passion fruits.... thinking of it, guess it is time for me to trim them and give them a good haircut :).. hehe. Unknowingly, I had been extremely busy these days, work is one thing, house chores is another thing... like is just too much worries and unpredictable. It wasn't that I worry too much, but I dreamt too much :P

Seriously, I have planned this blog long time ago. Been collecting the past experiments on my passion fruits product. There are a couple of it I could have missed taking photo.. nevertheless, most of them are here.

The passion fruits.

My most popular Passion Konyaku Jelly.

Jasmine tea + Passion fruit, tasted quite good.

Lastly, the experimental Passion fruit + Mint + Pop Soda + blended, refreshing one.

In fact, I experimented Passion fruit cheese tarts too.. but forgot to take pictures :P

Would welcome any ideas, if you have one to share :)

Foods @ Kota Kemuning : Daniel's Pan Mee

It's another food blog around my housing community. Strange enough, this blog will replace my previous blog on a Bubble Tea shop. Hehe... with no surprise, some business just could not sustained. It is time for others to take over, and such, we have a new Pan Mee Noddle corner for choice. I would say there are more and more food stalls established in this community, which bring us more variety!

Alright, if one would know Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee, one may start drooling and imagining the ever lasting taste of the chilli - the noodle - the egg - the anchovies! Of course that includes me. It is a good thing to find almost 60% of the taste here, the newly opened Daniel's Pan Mee @ Kota Kemuning.

Let's see from the pictures. As you can see, I have reserved the other 40% of taste similarity somewhere. Considering it is still not comparable to the ever famous Chilli pan mee in KL, this is still enough to cover my craving for Chilli pan mee. Do join me if you wish here :)

This is Chilli Pan Mee Kon-lo

This is meat ball pan mee.

My yummy egg yolk.

After lo (mixed).

Char Siew @ Spring Golden, Taman Sri Muda

Well, it was sinful enough to try out such a ..... yummy .... BBQ pork the other day. I would only know there is Meng Kei Char Siew @ Glenmarie, consider somewhere nearby my place. Until one day when a friend told us there is one nice Char Siew @ Taman Sri Muda, just a couple of KM away from home.

Look at the pork (oops... sorry this is a non-Halal post), from the look you would see how yummy it is. Indeed, it has the feel of melt-in-mouth. No doubt it was nice, but I wouldn't think it is worth the value. The price was a little more than I expected, well... probably because it is famous.

One could try it out if you don't mind paying a premium.

Happy trying~!

E25 LATAR Highway, featuring Kuala Selangor

Another month came, and it had been 2 months in a row we have an outing for Birthday celebration with friends and their families. This time round, the targeting outing place for dinner was Kuala Selangor. Some of you might know, the newly launched highway towards Kuala Selangor is still on trial, until end this month it will be free of charged.

Stumbled into Paul Tan's write up here from a friend's FB.

In summary, though the journey time could reduces, I still think it is far moving over from Kota Kemuning to NKVE - Guthrie Corridor - LATAR. The feel was.... just too pricy with many toll booth in between the journey.

Honestly, it had been a while since I last went to Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan. I prefer Sekinchan as I could have a stunning view of the wide greenery of paddy fields. Anyway, this trip wasn't too bad too, since weather was good and I had captured some so-so sunset view. Not with my DSLR, it was all compact!

Don't ask me why I dine in this restaurant, it was planned by the organizer. Honestly, I would think the place is over tourists attractions. By means, I still love seafood!

My stunning sunset view. Super love only a few of this.

Here are parts of the foods served.

These mini cakes were bought from one of the dried seafood stalls.

Lastly, the trip to Kg Kuantan for Kelip-Kelip (fireflies) was great. I enjoy the peacefulness, especially when I got to lie myself down on the sampan, staring at the stars and pakcik slowly cruises us, 4 in a boat along the river. It was an ever relaxing time to spend, quietly staring at those fireflies stays on the Mangroves tree. They build their "Christmas Tree" everyday. Ever been so nice to glow in the dark. According to Pakcik, best is to follow Chinese Lunar calendar, if ones would like to enjoy the best scenery and timing, avoid full moon basically.

Haha! I purposely left the photo blank.... it was all dark! :)

Glucosamine & MSM Cream

Believe most who has joint problem may have been consuming Glucosamine in pill form all these while. Glucosamine has been very commonly on the shelf of pharmacy over these years, personally I do not consume it, as the matter I do not have joint problem (yet). However, friends and family members surrounded me yet mostly have such problem, unfortunately.

On the other hand, MSM, Methylsulfonylmethane has also been sold in the pharmacy shelf recently, claim to be dietary supplement. It claims to have anti-inflamatory effect, which could cure swollen injury, especially around the bone and joint area.

Anyway, me being me, I am real skeptical with anything that needs to get into my mouth, and dilute into my body via my digestion system. This always come to my mind, how could it gets to the exact section in my body, one that needs it?

Not until I overheard there is such cream that one could apply, Glucosamine and/or with MSM cream, which can be applied only at the affected area. I recently twisted my ankle (again), same spot same area when I first had it back during my Shanghai vacation trip, in which I had met up my regular massage Soon Sifu. This time round, I twisted it again during my last Pulau Weh vacation... it took me a while to get it better and thus recover.

Here's my ankle when I first need to visit Soon Sifu after touched down from the airplane :)

My story aside. When I discovered that someone introduced my partner another type of Glucosamine cream, I decided to shop for it in Singapore pharmacy. Heard that it is not commonly found in Malaysia yet. Indeed was true, I went to Isetan pharmacy in Singapore Shaw, and found at least 4 to 5 types of such product on the shelf. I wasn't sure what's the best, and the price varies between $22 to $58. I thus bought the lowest range - Kordel's Glucosamine + MSM cream, reason being that it has additional ingredient. Of course, to be safe I did bought the other one which was recommended - LYNK's TCG Glucosamine cream.

Here are the 2 I bought.

And the rest which were still remained on the shelf.

Blogging this is nothing much but to share that there is such product out there, in case one would need to give it a try. I personally still yet to know which helps, but after a week plus observation, my ankle condition seems to be little much improved. However, not too sure if its physiologically impact.

Happy to try on and let me know. :)

By the way, after searching over internet for a while. I noticed Kordel's cream seems to be available in Malaysia's market.

Updated Aug 29, 2011:-

Here was what I had discovered for our local pharmacy around Klang Valley. Both major one like Watson and Guardian do have this carried. However, the cream were carried into the market with a different name, is called "EZI Cream". Not too sure what does it sounds to be... may be easy? Anyway, here's the packaging in case you would wish to try it out.
